HCG

HCG or Human Chorionic Gonadotropin has the unique ability of mimicking the luteinizing hormone and belongs to the category of gonadotropins. This drug is second to none when it comes to restoring the production of naturally occurring testosterone, the male sex hormone, and to induce ovulation in women who cannot ovulate on their own. In addition to these benefits, HCG is also useful to treat undescended testicles in young men and losing weight without loss of muscle mass and body strength.

The chemical name of HCG is (2S)-2-amino-6-[[(2R)-1-(carboxymethylamino)-1-oxo-3-sulfanylpropan-2-yl] amino]-6-oxohexanoic acid and the chemical formula is C11H19N3O6S.

HCG triggers the synthesis process and secretion of testosterone by binding and stimulating the Leydig cell receptors. It also stimulates gonadal steroid hormone production by promoting interstitial testis cells to produce androgens and corpus luteum of the ovary. In the world of healthcare, HCG is prescribed to individuals suffering from specific cases of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism in males and prepubertal cryptorchidism (not because of anatomical obstruction).

When administered in an injectable form, the recommended dose of HCG is 1500-3000 I.U. every fourth or fifth day. This administration must not exceed a period of 2-3 weeks at a stretch and should be followed by a cooling period of 2-3 weeks so that the human body doesn't get immune to action mechanism and benefits of HCG in the short and long run. It is also important to note that HCG is not recommended to individuals having an existing allergy to HCG or any of its ingredients or pregnant and nursing women. In addition to that, HCG use must be initiated and regulated by a qualified medical practitioner as HCG abuse (knowingly or unknowingly) can lead to side effects such as headache, fatigue, erythema, urticaria, dyspnea, and shortness of breath.
